"Roommate Buddies" raked in $2,000,000 on its premiere alone. It could have been more if not for the bad weather. By the 3rd day, takings was already $5,000,000! Seems like the target of $10,000,000 set by the director isn't such a high target after all.

Sammi suffered another asthma attack after returning home from filming in Japan and thus could not attend the premiere of "Roommate Buddies". Her parents however, came for the premiere with hordes of relatives to support Sammi. Andy Lau, who acted opposite her in "Chubby Love Story" remarked that Sammi worked extremely hard during the filming and will call on her to ask about her health soon. Looks like filming had finally taken its toll on poor Sammi. Fans sent Sammi a fax asking her to take care and get well soon. No doubt Sammi will be very touched when she knows about it.

During the filming of the music video of "Not Necessary", Sammi wore a black dress with a white scarf attached to it. And for the fun of it, she would wipe her mouth with the scarf and that made the crew laugh. Filming took place in a 4 storeyed furniture store and because of all the lamps, the coolest room was actually the washroom! Sammi often had to escape there in between takes.

In the movie "Roommate Buddies", there were a few kissing scenes between Sammi and Tony. The 2 of them only received the script the day before and they discussed how to make the scene a good one. However, Tony at that time was besotted with problems with his long time girlfriend, Carina Lau, and he appeared a little unnatural while filming for the scene. So much so that he himself was not satisfied with the result and he requested the scene to be shot again. There was another intimate scene in the movie involving him and his screen girlfriend which was dropped because the director wanted to focus on Sammi and Tony alone.

After the filming of the Japan scenes, the set of "Chubby Love Story" was moved back to Hong Kong. There, they film a scene whereby Sammi wants Andy to pretend to be her Japanese childhood lover, so that Sammi could prepare herself on the actual meeting day. Andy in his costume, dressed up in cargo pants and black jacket and bow-tie, upon seeing Sammi, could not resist but kiss her. However, due to the costume getting in the way, and not to spoil the effect of the make-up, they could only peck each other on the lips. Both their actions were natural even with the large costumes they were wearing.
